Running

So many of you were being supportive of my running and weight loss and I didn't know. An update is due, I feel. I'm running 5k this Sunday morning as part of the Run to the G. I'm a bit nervous, but last night I ran just under 5k in 32 minutes, so I know I can do it. I nearly threw up from the effort, but I'll just take it a bit slower next time!

Monday night was my first night at my new running club. I've signed up with Sporting Spirit for their beginners 10k 10 week sessions. Monday night was strength training. Shall we just say I haven't got any? The plank, for those who don't know, is an excercise where you support your body in a straight line, or plank, on your toes and forearms. Ow. Ow. Ow. Trainer says, "try for a minute". I reckon I lasted about 10 seconds before caving. And pushups. And squats. Ow. Ow. Ow.

Wednesday was better. Just a run. I tried to push myself by running with someone a bit quicker, and it worked for about 20 minutes, until I had to slow up. Still, pretty good going.

I put on 0.6kg a couple of weeks ago at Weightwatchers. Entirely due to having to weigh in my shoes now - I asked her to weigh them and they were 0.6kg. In total now I've lost 3kg, (but really 3.6!). I reckon I'll be pretty near goal by the time I reach the dreaded three zero.

That's if I don't do what I did this lunchtime too often, and have a footlong meatball sub, cheddar cheese and all the salad and eat it all in one sitting!

You cant beat a foot long sub and the meatball with cheese and salad is indeed a most excellent choice. Still somewhere to go in the (in)famous subway challange though ;-) -spj

Hey there's nothing wrong with turning thirty! I embraced turning thirty with enthusiasm and gusto. I am just a smidge over the mid-thirties mark and I must say that this has been the best decade of my life as not only have I married the most wonderful man in the world (besides your darling PAJ of course) but I also have given birth to a healthy and totally adorable baby boy. My final parting words ... thirty is not a dirty word.

I know I still have some way to go before I beat the twins. I think if I was to go for that challenge it'd be without salad, though!

And Pinky, we're very sorry about your CD ;-)
