What is it with a certain electric company? I tried to call today to give them the meter reading for the cottage-used-as-an-office. I don't have the account number, so I couldn't use the 0800 number they gave me. Off I went to the trusty internet and found their customer services number (an 0845 one). When I called that and pressed the button for meter readings it sent me back to the 0800 number. I redialled and eventually fought my way through the automated system to a real person, who took my reading. I've produced an exception - the reading is so much higher than the previous one that the bill will be almost £2000! I'm exceptional!
